Donna Marie Heckmann Lee

Donna was born in Houston, Texas to Harry and Ruby Heckmann and grew up in the Spring Branch area. She attended Valley Oaks Elementary, Landrum Junior High and Spring Branch High school, class of 1974. She continued to the University of Houston for two years with a love for interior design. She started working with Palais Royal in high school. She worked for Travelers Insurance during her college years. She met the love of her life Tommy Lee and was married on April 21, 1979. Donna and Tommy moved to Spring, Texas and Donna started working with an Insurance company specializing in construction in the area. When her husband and his brother started their business ventures, Donna changed jobs to do the bookkeeping for them.

Donna enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends to Hawaii, vineyards in California, antiquing in Kentucky, and abroad to Paris and Prague. She and Tommy had a house in Galveston that was host to family, and friends year-round. They hosted Heckmann and Bohne reunions in Gay Hill and Galveston.

Donna loved making decorated sugar cookies for all occasions for her nieces and nephews. Her love of animals was well known to all who knew her.

Donna was predeceased by her husband Tommy Lee and mother and father, Ruby and Harry Heckmann.

She leaves behind a mother–in-law Rose Lee, brother-in-law Jerry Lee and wife Dottie, sister-in-law Linda Brannon and husband Tommy and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends. We would like to thank her Guardian, Julie Rinker and the staff at Auberge, The Woodlands and Devotion Hospice care who took special care of her during these last few years.
