Dora Chavez Gonzales

Dora Chavez Gonzales, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2015. She was born on August 27, 1933 to Benito Chavez and Eulalia Escalante Chavez in Houston, Texas. Dora enjoyed being outdoors and spending quality time with her family.. She also had many friends who knew her as "Mama Dora". She loved to dance and enjoyed listening to music. Her family will miss her great cooking. Dora is survived by her children, Paul Gonzales Jr., Richard Gonzales, Dolores C. Gonzales and Theresa A. Klein and husband Gilbert; Grandchildren, Courtney Marie Sanchez and husband Jorge, Samantha Rene Klein and Gilbert Klein Jr.; Great grandchildren, Mariah Leigh Campos, Alyssa Nicole Campos, Cristiano Manuel Sanchez and Lucas Joseph Sanchez; sisters, Aurora Martinez and husband Guadalupe, Helen Chavez-Garcia and Josephine Martinez and husband Felix. Dora was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly.

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Pallbearers include, Gilbert Klein Sr., Gilbert Klein Jr., Mike A. Martinez, Mark A. Martinez, Daniel J. Martinez, Steve Chavez, Paul E. Chavez Jr., and Victor A. Morales.
