Dora V. Lopez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dora Villareal Lopez on April 22, 2017. She left this world at her home in Humble, TX, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Dora was born in New Caney, TX, on November 2, 1939. She graduated from New Caney High School in 1958. Her warm personality and strong leadership skills were evident early in life as she was crowned Homecoming Queen and served as Drum Major for the marching band. On December 11, 1960, she married Joe Lopez Jr of Sugarland, TX, and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone as an Operator. During her tenure she was honored for her quick thinking in helping save the life of a person who had called in for help. In 1971, she and her husband settled in Channelview, TX where they lived together rearing their six children. They would go on to establish, in 1975, Channel Fence Company, one of the most successful and long operating Hispanic owned businesses in the United States. In 2007, Dora was recognized for her leadership in the Hispanic Business Community by the George W Bush administration. In service to her local community, she was responsible for overseeing many of the political elections. She is survived by: her six children; Joel Lopez, Randolph Lopez, Perry Lopez, Susan Daniel, Loretta Aulds and Tracee Powell: Her fourteen grandchildren; Jarad Lopez, Jordan Harvey, Devin Aulds, Randi Berton, Sevron Daniel, Christopher Crowder, Adam Gobeaud, Darian Aulds, Sydnee Lopez, Truman Aulds III, Kloee Powell, Mason Lopez, Raylan Lopez and Cecilia Lopez. She is also survived by many beloved, cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Joe Lopez Jr; her parents, Juan Villareal and Cesarea Ayalos Villareal; her siblings, Gilbert Villareal, Eva Musquiz, Annie Gonzales, Dolores Gutierrez; and her daughter in law, Susan Lopez. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 Memorial Service 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. (Rosary 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) Crespo Funeral Home 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX, 713-225-9567 Thursday, April 27, 2017 Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. St. Andrew Catholic Church 827 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, TX Graveside services will be held at San Jacinto Cemetery following the Mass. I am beyond blessed to have gotten to take care of Mrs Dora ! Although I got fired every other day by her I know she loved me and I loved her! She was one of a kind and I will never forget her!! Everyone made me feel like part of the family ! I love you all and I am so sorry for your loss but she is in paradise now and I know she is so so happy! Joel you have a big piece of my heart and I commend you for taking care of your mom when there were many times you couldn't barely take care of yourself! I love you all!! Rest in paradise Mrs Dora I love you and miss you already!!
