On Sunday, December 20, 1987, forever changed the lives of Lloyd and Charmaine Price. They were blessed with an energetic and brilliant baby boy who they named Dorian Lamar Price. Dorian grew up in a loving home with his parents and older sister, Domonique.
He was baptized at an early age and grew up in the fellowship of his family church, both Pilgrim Baptist Church of Kenner, La and Powerhouse Christian Church of LaPlace, La.
As an avid football fan, Dorian was active in little league football with the Buddy Lawson Trojans. Later Dorian played for the Roosevelt Rough Riders and Bonnabel Bruin football teams. He also expressed his creative side through developing many written works, poetry and art.
Upon graduation from Alfred Bonnabel High School in May 2006, Dorian attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. He continued his love for football and was a member of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog football team. He was initiated into the Eta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated in the fall of 2007. Dorian earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2013.
Later in 2013, his blossoming engineering career took him to Houston, Texas where he began working with Dashiell Corporation and, more recently, Saber Power, laying the foundation for his professional and personal future.
Following Dorian’s leukemia diagnosis, he partnered with national organizations Be The Match and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise awareness of the disparity in bone marrow donors in black and other minority communities.
Dorian leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Lloyd and Charmaine Price; sister, Domonique Price; grandparents, Randolph and Florida Anthony and Billie Williams; aunts and uncles, Yolanda Williams, Percy (Sherry) Williams, III, Mary (Nolan) Batiste, Barbara Price, Brenda Price, Carolyn Price, Herman (Kathy) Price, Jr., Jason (Renee) Price, Vincent (Pabler) Price, Darrel Price, Harold Price and Kenneth (Cleaster) Price; devoted girlfriend, Kelli Putman and Asher, as well as a host of great-aunts and -uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Percy Williams, Jr. and Herman and Emma Price, Sr.
