Doris Gay Aluise

Doris Gay Smith Aluise, 91, of Pasadena, Texas, entered into rest August 20, 2019. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 21, 1928 to parents Edward and Julia Ann Smith. Doris graduated from Huntington High School and received her high school diploma in 1946. She was married to Samuel Joseph Aluise for 68 loving years. Doris worked as a telephone operator, helped her husband at his restaurant and shoe store, and she also worked in retail. She enjoyed plants, flowers, animals, and playing games and puzzles, but above all, her true passion was to volunteer her time to help her family and friends.

Doris is survived by her husband, Samuel Joseph Aluise, daughters; Victoria Lynn Bresie and Susan Aluise Kasianowitz, grandchildren; Stacy Tosh, Lisa Kasianowitz, and Brook Kasianowitz. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Julia Ann Smith, siblings; Paul Smith, Marguerite Friedlander, Charles Smith, and Josephine Bach.

A Visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. within the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, 77038. The Celebration of Life ceremony will commence at 1:00 p.m., after which the family would like to invite Doris' friends and loved ones to continue to fellowship with them and talk about how she touched their lives.
