

Doris was born April 3rd 1919 in Morgan City, Louisiana to Rudolph Charles Thorgeson, Sr. and Lillie M Hebert and was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University and was a lifelong dedicated LSU Tigers fan. Doris majored in psychology, minored in economics and always specialized in having a glorious time. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and was also a member of the Baton Rouge Junior League.
Doris married Knox Major Delambre in 1944 during World War II. Knox served in the United States Army Air Force and, after he retired from the military, they moved to Houston, Texas and raised their only son, Rudolph Charles “Chuck” Delambre. Doris was one of the founding members of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She dedicated her life to her family, especially to her grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Delambre and Ray Major Delambre.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband Knox Major Delambre, son Rudolph Charles “Chuck” Delambre and grandson Ray Major Delambre. She is survived by her granddaughter Elizabeth Ann “Liz Ann” Delambre, her daughter-in-law Susan Zak and her nieces and nephews.
She was deeply loved by many, was always the life of the party and will be truly missed. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers as well as her many friends. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
She will have a graveside service at the Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, May 30th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis TN 38101-9929.
