Most of us know her as “Dotsie” or “Mema”. Dotsie entered heavens gates on February 18, 2017 at 6:30a.m. Born February 25, 1925 in Alexandria, Louisiana, Doris Mae Sellars was born to Orie and Laura Sellars.
On May 17th, 1942, Doris was united in marriage to Howard Rightmer, the love of her life. Doris was a member of Airline Drive Baptist Church most of her adult life and then became a member of Little York Baptist Church in her later years. Doris worked in church all her life in various capacities, she taught bible school, Sunday school and even headed up the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary for many years.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rightmer and son, Larry Rightmer.
Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Janet Mausbach and husband Robert, two grandsons; Lance Sonka, wife Stephanie Sonka and Austin Kovach; two sisters Ruby Elaine Engle and Ora Lee Alvarez, two great grandchildren, Trinity Michelle and Tatiana Mae. Doris also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
To all that knew Doris, she loved the Lord first and that was reflected in the way she lead her life.
