

The Epitome of Life of Dorothy Nell Jordan
Dorothy Nell Jordan was born October 9, 1942, in Madisonville, Texas to the late Nadine Whaley Mills and Wyett Robbins. She was the second of nine siblings. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in Houston, Texas, and ambitiously went on to pursue higher education through Lone Star College in her later years.
After high school, Dorothy married JT Black, and from that union, had six children. Later, she went on to meet and marry the love her of life, Lonnie Lee Jordan.
At an early age, Dorothy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a dedicated faithful servant no matter the church home. Most recently, Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Usher Board and served faithfully throughout the church.
Dorothy was an entrepreneur, starting and running numerous businesses. She also worked in various fields from domestic work, to manufacturing, to childcare.
Preceding in Death are her Parents: Nadine Whaley Mills and Wyett Robbins; Her Loving Husband: Lonnie Lee Jordan; Siblings: Damon “Son” Robbins, Ann Mathis, and Shirley Ann Robbins; and her Great-Great Granddaughter: Ka’lonni Berry.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Felita Richardson (Tony), Deborah Berry (Roger), Demetress Black, Cynthia Jordan (Troy), JT Black (Anita), and JB Black (Tiffany); Siblings: Lee Robbins, Lawrence Robbins, Wilma Mills, and Alzeath Jackson; 17 Grand Children, 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2022 Ellington St, Houston, TX 77088. The funeral service will immediately follow, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 2022 Ellington St, Houston, TX 77088. The committal will follow from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
