Dorothy Mae Puls (Sellers) June 17, 1926 – August 3, 2019
Dorothy was born in Cuba, Missouri to Virginia Capaheart and David Sellers. At the age of 16 she began supporting herself by working at the Independent Packing Company and later found her niche in upholstery which was her career for over 35 years.
She started attending Glad Tidings at the age of 9 when it was a newly formed church and met in a small building with its first pastor Rev. Baker. She continued to attend for 65 years as Glad Tidings Temple was built, the church grew, and then later declined.
She loved to serve the Lord and did so through many ministries including Leading the Praise Service, playing the piano, teaching Sunday School, all the way to providing janitorial services. But, her main ministry was with the Youth Group under Rev. Raymond Gander where she had a positive affect on an untold number of lives.
In 1991 she started attending Faith Temple with Rev. Prentis Woods as her pastor.
In 1999 she moved to Houston Texas where she attended Faith Chapel with Rev. Calvin Kearly as her pastor.
Jesus was at the center of her life and even in her decline in the memory care facilities she was known to go to the piano to play and sing hymns.
She is preceded in death by her husband O’Neal Puls, her brother David Sellers, and her grandson Eric Puls.
She leaves behind her brother Clyde Sellers; her sons and daughter in-laws Dale Puls, Janet Puls, Barry Puls, and Jackie Puls; her grandchildren Jeff Puls, Jennifer Dierking, and Stacey Puls-Murphy; and her great grandchildren Owen Puls, Adeline Puls, Oliver Puls, Grace Dierking, Sarah Dierking, and Abigail Dierking.
