Dorothy A. Blocher Rieger, a native Houstonian, passed away on September 14, 2013 at age 103. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Ferd Rieger, parents, Katherine and John Blocher, brother, George Duvernoy Blocher, nieces, Anadel K. Johnson, Hilda A. Kluge, Milda Roten and Edna Tipton, nephew George Fegter and friend, Charles McMurrey. Survived by nephews, George, Jr., Michael, Edward, Fr. James and Thomas Blocher and grandnieces, Susan J. Burkenstock, Karen J. Bloodworth and Nancy J. Parauka. Dorothy and Ferd were 1935 graduates of South Texas College of Law, were very politically active in the City of West University, enjoyed travel and growing prize winning camellias, azaleas and gardenias. She was a Senior Services volunteer for many years. Graveside service on Saturday, September 21 at 11am at Glenwood Cemetery 2525 Washington Ave.
