Dorothy Louise Roberts

Dorothy Louise Roberts was born to Eppie Thomas on February 22nd 1928.  She attended public schools and accepted Christ at an early age.  She attended Wheatley High School, where she met her first husband Albert Joseph Stewart Sr. Together they were blessed with two sons.  Later in life she met and fell in love with a young man from Brenham, Texas named Herman Leon Roberts and they were married.   Along with his three sons from his first marriage, they had five more children together.  In her early years, Mother was a hard worker, taking on several jobs to help take care of their family.  Aside from her regular job, she had part-time work, she also sold Tupperware, Avon and Celebrity jewelry.  She later started a flea market business that she loved dearly until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and wasn’t able to work anymore. With the loving care of her daughter Deborah, she dealt with this condition for many years until now.    God felt like it was time to bring one of his angels home and she departed this life on August 25th 2016.   Herman L. Roberts (our father) and our brothers; Herman L. Roberts Jr. (Bubba), Albert J. Stewart Jr., Paul J. Stewart, Dwight L. Roberts and Anthony L. Roberts all preceded her in death.   Dorothy leaves to mourn, her children; Bennie Lee Roberts, Joyce Roberts (daughter in-law), John R. Roberts (California), Deborah Ann Roberts-Gray, Alexander Dave Roberts (Mississippi) and LeDale Roberts, many loving and devoted grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also leaves many relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.   “Take your wings mama and rest now, you’ve earned them”
