

Douglas Earl Grasty, aged 47, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband to Priscilla, a devoted godfather to Maxximus and Leónidas Rappleyea, and cherished friend to many. Doug will be remembered for his kindness, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering dedication to his family and community, even in the face of adversity. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Doug was a loving uncle, friend, brother in law, son in law, and dog and cat dad. He was loved by so many. His Faith in God was unwavering.
Doug was born in Houston, Texas to Ann Wilkins (Moody) and Douglas H. Grasty. He was preceded in death by his parents Ann Wilkins, Brian Wilkins, and Douglas H. Grasty.
Doug was a graduate of Aldine High School, The University of Houston Downtown, and Texas A&M School of Law. He was grateful for the support of his family, co-workers, and friends. Doug became an advocate for colorectal cancer awareness and encouraged his family and friends to have their preventive screenings.
We are extremely grateful for the care, compassion, and kindness of his care team at MD Anderson. We are also grateful for the love and support given by his best friend and honorary brother, Jesus Omar Retta and his family.
A visitation for Douglas will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors with a reception following the funeral service in the Event Room at Earthman Funeral Directors.
