Douglas Alvia Rich

A Houston native, he was born on December 29, 1931 to Arthur and Ada Henderson Rich. He attended Jeff Davis High School. He was an X-Ray Technician in the Army and later owned several businesses in Houston. He was also a deacon at Houston’s First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gerry Rich, and his brother, James Rich.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carole Domsalla-Rich. He is also survived by his sons Daniel Douglas Rich and John David Rich; his stepdaughter RaeAnn Hopfe and husband Paul; Granddaughter Jennifer Hopfe; grandson Cameron Hopfe; Great-Granddaughters Madison and Everleigh; Stepdaughter Cynthia Hunter and husband Mark; Granddaughter Angela Ritchie, Husband Scott and Great-Grandson Garrett Reddoch; Granddaughter Sheri Lee and Husband Glenn; nephew Chris Rich, wife Sandy and son; Cousin Jo Henderson and wife Pam; Cousin Carole Goll; Cousin Rosalee Smith; and numerous other loved ones.

Our family would like to give a special thanks his caretaker Betzi Cruz who has a gift for lovingly caring for patients.

There will be a viewing on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079, 281-497-2210. A graveside interment service will follow at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 13401 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 at 1:00 pm.
