

Douglas spent three years studying at the University of Texas and remained a fan of the Longhorns. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War 2. His years of service reflected a deep sense of duty and commitment that remained with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he started working in the steel building industry at Armco Steel and at National Steel Products. His final employment was with Moncrief Lenoir where he worked until retirement.
A devoted family man, Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Williams; his father, Douglas Bennett Williams Sr.; his mother, Anna Mae Williams; his sister Mary Ann Belin, brother-in-law Bruce Belin; and his brother Terry Williams.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Michael Williams (Kathy), Linda McMahon, Larry Williams (Teresa), and Craig Williams. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Byron Lee (Ingrid) and Michael Cummings (Beth) Katie Cummings (Jason), as well as great-grandchildren Kaden and Maddie Cummings. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl Garner, sister-in-law Kathy Williams and numerous nieces and nephews.
Douglas found joy in the outdoors and was an avid hunter. This passion brought him many memorable experiences over the years while hunting with family in Fredericksburg. This was reflected his appreciation for nature and tradition.
His long life was marked by dedication—to family, to service, and to the values he held dear. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived. A Service will be held on August 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery 13001 Katy Freeway.
