Earl Nicholas Jr.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, Earl Nicholas, Jr., loving husband and great father of three children passed away at the age of 81, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born on January 4, 1939 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Earl Nicholas, Sr and Gladys Broussard, but raised by a loving stepfather Willie Jones.

On August 11, 1962 he married Ellen Washington and they raised two daughters, Alfreda and Deirdre, and one son, Earl, III.

Mr. E had a passion for life. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing dominoes, "always talking noise" and traveling.

He served in the United States Military, Army branch in 1957 at the age of 18. A man of many jobs, he worked hard to care for his family. Mr. E was generous, kind and outgoing. He retired at Gulf Coast Portland Cement Company as a Plant Supervisor.

Earl is survived by his wife, Ellen Nicholas of 58 years, three children Alfreda, Dierdre (Henry), Earl III (Sheila), 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings, Willie, David, Robert, Mariah, Mary, Bertha (Bip), and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild and siblings, David, Robert, and Mariah.

A memorial service for Earl will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A reception will follow immediately after from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
