

Eddie Jeanne (Petie) Atkins White age 84, devoted wife, mother, grand-mother and dear friend went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2012. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma April 25, 1927 to Edward and Lucille Atkins. She moved to Houston as a young girl, graduating from Lamar High School in 1944. There she met and later married her high school sweetheart Robert Earle White. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in January. She was retired from a career as a first class part-time secretary for the State Of Texas. She served on the volunteer Board Of Directors for Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital for over 20 years. She was a most gracious, hospitable, woman. She was diligent, hard working and above all a genteel lady at all times. She was an active member of St. Martin"s Episcopal Church. She participated in the Saintly Stitchers Guild. She loved music and ballroom dancing and continued watching others dance, well past the time she could take part. Her family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances will all remember her as the most accomplished, kind and loving woman of her time. During her six year battle with cancer she never complained, but continued to serve her family and community with a ready smile and warm welcome. Eddie Jeanne leaves behind her devoted husband Earle, sons Robert Earle Jr, Craig Alan and wife Renee, grand-daughters Kelly Rochelle, and Amanda Renee, grand-sons, David Alan and Alec Nathan. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 6-7 pm. Memorial Service and Reception will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 3:00 at St. Martin"s Episcopal Church, Sage Rd, Houston, Texas. We will miss you so.......much and look forward to greeting you with great joy in our heavenly home.
