Bro. Mac was our pastor during my youth years at Pinemont Baptist and then my parents pastor at Westway.  He and Eva Lee were such an inspiration to me and I will never forget him.  He loved to hear me sing and always made me feel special.  I'd love to hear him and Bruce humming or sometimes singing behind me while I sang at either church throughout the many years (25 years...wow!).  I will always remember his bright smile and sharp wit.  I know that my daddy and Bro. Mac are rejoicing in heaven and sharing some old, blessed stories!  God bless you, Bruce & Gail and all of the extended McCrary family.

I met Bro. Mac only during this last year. I could have listened to his stories forever! The last time I saw him at church, just a few weeks before he passed away, he was in his wheelchair and waving at someone. I knew then that that was how I would remember him. Waving and smiling! Love to his family.

Bro. Mac is the greatest man I've ever known.  I love and miss him and can hardly wait to join the party.  My prayers are with your family.  Love you all.

Bro Mac is rejoicing in heaven but continues to hold a special place in my heart. Many years ago, he shared a precious moment with a child that may have been known only to them. This child was expecting a reprimand but was met with grace. On a Wednesday night during choir practice when she was about 7 years old and after she accepted Jesus as her Savoir, Bro Mac caught her in the auditorium of PBC all by herself with hymnal in her small hands and singing. After she abruptly stopped in his presence, he said, “that is one of my favorite songs” and began singing then paused and said “sing it with me”. They sang all the verses together with their eyes focused on the cross  … I have found a friend in Jesus. He's everything to me.  ?He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul. ?The Lily of the Valley in Him alone?I see. All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.?In sorrow He's my comfort in trouble He's my stay.?He tells me every care on Him to roll.?He's the Lily of the Valley?the Bright and Morning Star.?He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.?He's all my grief has taken and all my sorrows borne.?In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower.?I have all for Him forsaken and all my idols torn. From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.?In sorrow He's my comfort in trouble He's my stay. Bro. Mac was a special man. He was my pastor at Pinemont Baptist from 1966-76.I still remember asking him if he would marry my fiancee and me. He said, "Donna, I am already married. How about me just performing your wedding ceremony?" What a great saint of God. I am looking forward to our reunion some day when we will worship our Savior together in our heavenly family. May God bless and comfort his family.

Bro. Mac has a calm steady force in my life. He was as consistent  and trusted pastor and I am grateful to have had him in my life.

Heaven has gained yet another wonderful Saint.I know there was a great reunion with blood family & then our spiritual family (Fishers,the Clacks to name a few).I hope he found Heaven's golf course because Daddy (James Sissell) will be there soon.I'm sure after they visit with their Lord & Savior, friends & family Bro. Mac will say come on James let's play a round of golf. We are so sorry we can not make the services but we are not leaving Daddy with him so close to making that trip to Heaven.Please know we love y'all and our prayers are with y'all.Thank you for sharing Bro. My deepest sympathies to the McCrary family and the hundreds, no, thousands of people who were touched by this man and came to know the Lord through his ministry. He and Sister Mac were the finest Pastor and Wife I've ever known. Imagine the reunion going on in heaven. It makes me "kind of homesick for a city..."

One of the most Godly and precious persons I have ever known. I know he is with his blessed saviour and loved ones.

My sympathies to Bro. Mac's family.  May God give you comfort and peace. I have known Bro. Mac and his family most of my life.  I was about 10 or 11 when he became my pastor at Pinemont Baptist Church.  He led me to accept Jesus as my Saviour in his study when I was 15.  He married me and Louis in Houston in 1968. He was one of my favorite pastors and I have lots of wonderful memories of him.   He preached a revival at my church in Rockdale, Texas back in the 80's and we had a great time visiting with him. I have seen him several times since then, but not recently. My heart is sad that he is gone, but I rejoice that he is with the Lord and I will see him again some day. He has servied the Lord for so many years there can never be any question that he is now in the Lord's loving arms and with his beloved wife.  He has been ready since she left his side so take this loss as a blessing for a BLESSED man that served so many.  He has been part of our family for over 21 years and through everything he always had great spirit, a spiritual and emotional love for all he came in contact with.  He will be missed by many, but imagine the multitude of those that greeted him at the PEARLY GATES!  What a reunion there was in heaven.  God Bless each of you and cherish your memories. Bro. Mac was so very special to my family.  So many fond memories growing up with him, his family & other members at Pinemont Baptist.  My Mother and Dad (Fran & Joe Erzen) are in heaven and I am sure were there greeting him with loving arms.

May God give you comfort and peace during this time of loss.  Bro. Mac was once my pastor and Sunday School teacher. I will always remember him.

I have known Bro. Mac for about 60 years. He has always been special to me and my family. There are many stories that could be told about the past 60 years but I will hold on to all the memories he and Sister Mac have made for me. Will see you again and love you Bro. Mac. Kathy Kirsch Key
