Edith Nora Handunge, 82, passed away on Wednesday November 17, 2010. She was born on April 14, 1928 in Colombo, Sri Lanka to Alfred Fernando and Hazel Sumersingha Fernando. Edith was a child of God, a squeaky clean Mom, Grandmother, Sister, a Friend and a wonderful human being. She was a very kind and patient Nurse by profession. She went the extra mile to please all of her children and grandchildren and her patients that she cherished very dearly. When her children and grandchildren visited her she always made the delicious, authentic meals to satisfy and made sure that we took home whatever she could give us. Edith enjoyed gardening, cooking, grocery shopping, singing, (she had a pretty good voice).She had a fresh humor and was very joyful, loving, and hard working. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00PM Saturday November 20, 2010 with Funeral services starting at 7:00PM in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas.
