Ed graduated from St. Pius X high school in 1963. After a two-year tour in Vietnam with the Army, Ed returned to Houston to start a family with his wife, Connie. Connie and Ed were wed for 51 years. Ed was hired by the City of Houston soon after returning to civilian life and worked there for nearly 30 years, shepherding the City's computer systems from the age of punchcards to individual workstations, earning his degree along the way in Management and Information Systems from the University of Houston in 1976. After briefly working as a consultant primarily addressing Y2K concerns in the late 1990s Ed fully embraced retirement, enjoying the outdoors life, grilling, working in his yard, and spending time with his family. Ed died peacefully and is survived by his daughters Deanna, Linda, son Ed, and son in law Trae Stavinoha; his five grandchildren Virginia "Katie", Christopher, David "Jake", James, and Henry; and his sisters Debra and Jeanette.
