Edna Brackman Thompson

She completed her RN from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Indianapolis, Indiana and was licensed in Texas. She completed a BS degree in Biology from the University of Houston. She completed a BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston. She worked for 19 years in ICUs in Indianapolis and in Houston. After that, she continued to use her clinical nursing experience in hospital settings as a Revenue Integrity Nurse Auditor. She loved working and gave her job 1000%. She was an integral part of her husband’s practice and did his billing with great skill. She married her husband Pat in 1982. They enjoyed world traveling for many years. They also enjoyed raising many dogs together. She ran the Houston Half Marathon in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021. She loved her neighbors and neighborhood and served the Civic Association in various capacities to include President, Vice President, and Secretary. She very much enjoyed visiting her family in Indiana and her husband’s family in Arkansas. She loved all of her family and friends unconditionally. She also very much enjoyed visiting with her friends in Houston and she enjoyed talking with her family and friends over the phone. She strictly adhered to COVID-19 safety guidelines, was fully vaccinated and never contracted the disease.

Edna is predeceased by her parents and oldest brother. She is survived by her husband, Pat, her sister, Helen Gillman and her husband, Michael Gillman of Brookville, Indiana and their children, and grandchildren. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Urban Brackman, and his wife Geralyn of Batesville, Indiana and their children, and grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be arranged in the future.
