

Edward Teas Austin was born in Houston Texas on May 16, 1931. He passed into the Lord’s hands on Jan 25th 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Irene Finnigan Austin, father Frank M. Austin and mother Josephine Teas Austin of Houston, Texas, as well as brother Frank M. Austin II, and sister Mary Jo Austin McCormick. Ed is survived by sister Joyce Austin Bradshaw, children James Edward Austin, Carol Austin Snowden (husband Jim) and Kathy Austin Curry (husband Jack), grandchildren Kyle Matthew Austin, Kory Michael Austin and Julia Irene Curry, and great grandchildren Wesley, Sage, and Connor.
After graduating from Lamar High School, Ed studied engineering at Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served as a radar technician during the Korean Conflict. After his service he held positions as an electronic repair technician and later started a series of companies culminating in the establishment of Ace Electronic Parts of Houston, TX and Altex Computers and Electronics.
Ed, or “ET” as he was known amongst early friends, was at one time active in Berachah Church of Houston, TX and served as a Deputy Constable for Harris County Precinct 4. He was a private aircraft and helicopter pilot and his interests included politics, auctions, and precious metal recovery.
A memorial service for Edward will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
