Edward Earl Jones Jr.

Edward Earl Jones Jr., age 92, passed away on May 26, 2026. He was born on September 13, 1933, in Orange County, TX, to Rosa Mae Turner and Edward Earl Jones Sr. A cherished and beloved presence to those who knew him, Edward will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude.

Edward attended Phillis Wheatley High School, beginning a life marked by steady purpose and faithful commitment to the people and principles he held dear.

After graduating, Edward enlisted in the United States Army, serving two years of Active Duty. Following his honorable discharge, he continued his service by enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served two tours in Vietnam. After his discharge, he returned to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Brown & Root—carrying forward the same sense of dedication that guided his years in uniform.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda Jones; daughters, Sylvia Jones and Erma Jones; son, James Jones (Latasha); step-son, Rodrick Davis; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Edward will always be remembered for devotion to his family, his faith, and loving smile.
