Edward Louis Moses III was born in Houston on the 27th of May 1982, to Lee Ann and Edward Louis Moses, Jr., and passed away in Missouri City, Texas on the 28th of December 2022. He was 40 years of age.
Along with his sister, Elicia, Edward enjoyed an active youth outdoors, where he developed a love for hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, lacrosse, and wakeboarding. He attended St. John’s School, graduating in 2001, and developed many lifelong friendships during his twelve years there. Edward graduated from Trinity University and earned his MBA from the University of Houston. Edward was a proud member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Mutton Bustin’ Committee. He considered it a great honor to serve his community alongside his fellow committee members to bring joy to children during the Rodeo each year.
Edward met the love of his life, Sarah Catherine Arter, in 2011 and knew immediately that he wanted to spend his life with her. He proposed in a private gondola ride while vacationing at Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe during a winter trip, and they married in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2015. Edward and Sarah shared a passion for traveling and saw so much of the world together. Throughout their travels, they enjoyed many special places and activities, including fishing in three oceans, learning to surf, a safari in Africa, and visiting family in Ukraine. Edward and Sarah also shared a love of animals, especially their beloved dogs, Sadie Banks and Indie Valentine.
Edward was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. His circle of compassion was always expanding, and he took great joy in giving his love and time to others. He had a photographic memory for the birthdays of his family and friends and was typically the first to impart well-wishes on their special day. Always quick with a joke, he provided laughter and cheer to everyone around him. He would be delighted to know how many wonderful memories and stories will continue to be told and cherished by those whom he loved and who loved him. Edward is dearly missed.
Edward is preceded in death by his mother, Lee Ann. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; sister, Elicia; father, Eddie; dearly loved nephews, Patrick and Liam Waggener; aunts, Marie Phillips, Glenda Oakley, and Karen Johnson; many cousins; and numerous dear friends whom he considered family.
