Edward was born on November 4, 1955, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Edward Valles Sr. and Maria Valles.
Edward lived his life to the fullest and always on his own terms. One of his greatest passions was trail riding. He was an active and cherished member of the Texas Independence Trail Ride Association, where he shared his love for horses and the traditions of trail riding with countless friends who became like family. His presence will be deeply missed both by his family and his trail riding family.
Edward leaves behind a legacy through the generations of family who loved him. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and father figure whose life touched many.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Valles Sr.; his beloved wife Linda; and his brother Roy.
He is survived by his six children: Sophia Betancourt and husband Ruben; Lupe Cantu and husband Mathew; Edward Valles III and wife Maria; Christopher Valles; Abe Valles and wife Wendy; and Virginia Valles and husband Gary.
He was also blessed with 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a part of his legacy forward.
Edward will be remembered for the life he lived, the stories he shared, the miles he traveled, and most importantly, the family he loved. Though his final trail ride here on earth has come to an end, the memories he created along the way will continue to ride on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
