Eddie was born in Crowley, Louisiana because his dad was fighting in Vietnam and his mother went to live with her mother during the pregnancy and birth. Edwin Fredrick Bauer, Sr. and Tina Louise Williams were the proud parents.
Eddie had one brother who predeceased him. Paul was born April 23, 1971 and died tragically in an automobile accident on August 5, 1997. Eddie died tragically from injuries sustained in a fall in his home after surviving cancer, pancreatitis, gall bladder removal and even a brown recluse bite. He was a true fighter. He has missed his brother greatly over the years and is now at home with him.
Eddie was married for a few years to Lara Womble who is the mother of their two children, Paula Bauer, 21 and Edwin Bauer, III age 19. He had sole custody of the children throughout their childhood and was an awesome father. When asked to use one word for their father, his son said awesome. Paula said that her dad was a dad when she needed a dad and a friend when she needed a friend. Paula is transitioning from Baylor to a nursing school in Houston, Eddie is a student at Sam Houston State University.
Eddie attended college in Houston, Texas. He was the definition of an entrepreneur. Each time he was employed he learned enough of the business to then start his own. He had a mortgage company, flipped houses, cars and motorcycles, designed and sold sunglasses and operated a roofing company. He holds several patents related to his sunglasses and accessories. He loved music and could play the piano and guitar. He mainly played songs that he had written both the lyrics and the music. Eddie raced bmx and motorcycles and his love for this sport continued throughout his life. He enjoyed all sports.
