Elaine is survived by her children, David L. Minchen and Carole Shine Jones (Gordon); three grandchildren, Brett Shine (Mary), Rodney Shine (Wendy), and Cinda Smith (Craig); and five great grandchildren, Mikayla, Emily, Camryn, Caycie and Bobby. Her niece, Dorothy Minchen, and her nephews, Meyer Minchen and Jordan Minchen, held a very special place in her heart.
Despite Elaine's success as a professional model and pageant winner, her abundant physical beauty paled in comparison to her inner beauty. As a wife, mother and as "Mammaw", her love and constant encouragement never failed. Elaine excelled as a realtor, but her best work was always at home caring for a family that loved her.
Elaine was charming, gracious and elegant. She was an avid walker. Elaine was a devout Episcopalian and was a founding member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. Elaine's sweet spirit and generous nature will surely be missed by her friends and loved ones. Her official age was "young at heart".
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 18th of February, in the Drawing Room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
An interment service is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 19th of February, at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Avenue in Houston.
