

Eldon Lanham Saul, a native Texan passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Eldon was born in Fort Worth, TX on July 12, 1924. He spent his formative years in Miami, TX and the last 44 years a resident of Houston. He attended Trinity University and received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University. He was employed by Conoco for over 31 years and was very active in the Society of Automotive Engineers, API and numerous trade associations. He received many national acknowledgements for his contributions to these organizations.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WW ll, with duties in the Philippines and Japan. In April of this year he was fortunate to be on the inaugural flight for Honor Flight Houston, which honors veterans by escorting them to Washington D.C. for viewing the monuments and memorials dedicated to veterans.
Eldon is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Arvalee; daughters Elaine White and Carolyn Saul; granddaughter Kindel Doucet and her husband Eric; great-grandchildren Morgan Taylor, Carter Lanham and Conner Gaston Doucet.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Phillip’s United Methodist Church, 5501 Beechnut Blvd. at 11:00 AM.
