Eldridge Doucet transitioned from this life and fell into the arms of our LORD on Tuesday, September, 13, 2022. He was born to Joseph Doucet and Victoria Guillory on July 22, 1944 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Eldridge was the seventh child of nine.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the tender age of 16 and was baptized by the late Reverend Willie Frank of Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
One fine day in October of 1965, Eldridge met the love of his life, Bertha Jane Malveaux at a church bazaar. Two years later on August 19, 1967, they were united in Holy Matrimony. This union was blessed with one son, Eldridge Andre’ Doucet.
Eldridge was a loving and devoted husband who always showered his wife with flowers and teddy bears. He was an excellent father as well as a stellar grandfather, and great-grandfather. He would have done and did DO anything and everything for his family.
Eldridge was a committed hard worker at General Electric Company for 31 wonderful years. He diligently labored there and was graciously honored for his outstanding contributions during a career of faithful services and dedication.
Eldridge joined Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church in 1977 under the leadership of the late Pastor Onezene Wilson where he was blessed to have served the church in many capacities. He previously served as the Superintendent of Sunday School, President of the Food Bank, Secretary of Brotherhood, as well as sang in the Senior/Mass Choir and Male Chorus.
Eldridge leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Bertha Doucet, his son, Eldridge Andre Doucet, daughter, Jo Ester Larkin, (the joy of his life) his three grandchildren, Dominique Le’Shay Doucet, Taylor Sa’Voy Aguon (Kristian) and Kameron Durnell Jackson, (added joys to his heart) three beautiful great-grandchildren, Thai Carson, Kozi Ray, and Kobe John Aguon, one brother, Arthur Doucet, two sisters, Joe Ann Freeman and Very Jean Arvie, as well as a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in his death are his parents, Joseph and Victoria Doucet, sisters, Emma Joy Fisher, Jessie Mae Williams, Clayo Mae Williams, and brothers, Joseph Pitre and Justin Ardoin.

A viewing for Eldridge will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 7818 Bonaire St., Houston, TX 77028. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 7818 Bonaire St., Houston, TX 77028. A burial will occur Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
