We live across the street. March or April of this year we met Grandpa. He was relaxing out by the pool at the Minor's. It was a beautiful sunny day! He was smiling and laughing while Gio and Savannah were having fun playing in the pool and Javier sat in the hot tub. Bright sun umbrellas were set up all around. As Ken chatted with Grandpa, Ken learned that his favorite president was Kennedy, who was in office when Alex was serving in the Army. Then we heard the ice cream truck coming around and everyone got excited (shrieks of delight from the Dynamic Duo!). Herlinda asked us what we would like and Ken said he'd like a "Nutty Buddy" and Grandpa smiled and said, "Ohhh, I'd like that too!" Herlinda said, "What's a Nutty Buddy"?
Everyone laughed. And, Grandpa ate the whole thing!

If only for a little while, we feel Blessed to have known Grandpa, his sweet kindness radiated happiness always. We pray for peace for all his family.

With love,
Jen and Ken

Grandpa, you and I shared my whole life together. You were my rock, my strength, and my motivator. I was never afraid to try something new because I knew if I fell, you’d be there to pick me up, hug me, and say try again. I have lived my life following the light you shined so brightly. I understand that it is now my turn to be the anchor for the family and to make sure my light is shining so others may follow. I will forever be grateful for the life you gave me. Me, Javier and the kids love you forever!
