

She was born on the 3rd of June 1919, in Brownwood, Texas, the daughter of Alfred Griffin and Ada Honea Griffin.
She is survived by her two children, James Michael Bettis and wife, Sherry Bettis, and Alfred Bryant Bettis and wife, Vicky Bettis; along with grandchildren, Brooke Colvin Long, James Michael Bettis, Jr., and wife, Kelley Bettis, Tommye Bettis Hester, and husband, Sam Hester, Kristan Bettis Johnson and husband, Rob Johnson, Michael Cameron Bettis and wife, Amy Bettis, Travis Sumner Bettis and Cameron King Brown; great grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Coleman , Douglas Patrick Coleman, James Michael Bettis III, Jett Bryant Bettis, Lane Robert Johnson, Lucia Elizabeth Johnson, London Grace Johnson, Hudson Travis Bettis and Graham Henry Bettis, to whom she was affectionately known as their Nana; along with numerous great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Mary Griffin Freeze, sisters Madele Coleman, Irene Wilson, Edna Hyde and Hazel Curry Andrews, and brother Lewis Griffin.
She was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Houston since 1951 and active in the Women's Auxiliary to the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at noon on Tuesday, the 17th of March, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Heights, 201 E 9th Street in Houston, where the funeral service is to commence at one o'clock.
Interment is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
