Elizabeth K. Magner

Elizabeth “Liz” Magner was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on September 26, 1923. She passed away peacefully on April 26, 2011. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Magner, and is survived by her loving children, Peggy Wetegrove, Robert Magner, John Magner, Michael Magner and Richard Magner, together with their spouses, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss their beloved Grammy.

Liz attended Southern Methodist University where she met and married her lifetime partner Jack Magner. She lovingly raised her five children while generously devoting her time and energy to her family, friends, church and community. She was active in the Charity Guild of Catholic Women and the Catholic Daughters of America. She shared her love and compassion with everyone she met and we are all better for having been blessed with her company.

The visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, Rosary at 7:00. The funeral mass will be at St. John Vianney Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, reception to follow at the Activity Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Charity Guild of Catholic Daughters (charityguildshop.org), Small Steps Nurturing Center (SSNC.org) or Strake Jesuit (strakejesuit.org) will be greatly appreciated.
