Ellean Cryer

Ellean Cryer, born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on June 13,1932 to Ollie Campbell and William Henry Cornett. She was a longtime resident of Porter/New Caney, Texas but she never forgot her Appalachian roots and often spoke about growing up in the mountains. She spent her life devoted to her family and her faith in the Lord where she built many lifelong friendships along the way. She passed peacefully on September 28,2026 at the age of 94.

Ellean is survived by her daughter in law Belinda Cryer (wife if the late Timothy Cryer), two grandchildren, Heather Cryer and Tracey Coffield (spouse Steven), numerous Great Grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her lifelong Husband Roger Cryer and her loving Son Timothy Cryer and her sisters Hazel Browning, Dorothy Spillner, Madge Adams and Dixie Lee.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am and a Graveside Service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 from 11:00 to 11:25 on October 9, 2026.
