Elliott Edgar Hoelscher passed away on July 29, 2020 at the age of 87. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Borden, Texas to Edgar Robert and Clara Michalek Hoelscher. He graduated from Weimar High School at the age of 16, and went to work in the oil field. He met Jeanette Brunner at a dance in Ammansville, Texas, and they were married three years later. They moved to the Houston area and he began attending night school at the University of Houston, while working full time during the day and growing his family. He received a Bachelor’s of Business degree in Accounting and retired as Executive Vice President at Bowen Tools, Inc. Prior to Bowen Tools, he worked at WKM and Western Gear. Elliott and Jeanette had 6 children and eventually moved to the Spring Branch area where they have resided for 55 years. He put all of his children through college. Elliott was an avid deer hunter and loved hunting in the Texas Hill Country with his family and friends. His biggest joy was family get-togethers and being with his wife and children. His family was his hobby. He spent his retirement years traveling with his wife, and attending and supporting all of his grandchildren's activities. He was an awesome “Popo”. We will all miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Howard Edward Hoelscher. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette of Houston; sons Robert and wife Martha of Cypress, Terry and wife Dean of Caldwell; daughters Sharon Rodgers and husband Erich of Cypress, Connie Womack and husband Roger of Garland, Laurie Flack and husband Andy of Huntsville, Jan Cox and husband John of Mansfield. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 6 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and family friends who all adored him.

Due to COVID-19, the Funeral Mass is by invitation only. All are welcome to the visitation and gravesite service.

Yesterday we laid our sweet Popo to rest. Elliott Edgar Hoelscher was married to his wife, my Mamuer, for 67 years. I’ve always been in awe hearing how he and Mamuer got married, and shortly after they had their first kid, all while Popo went to school at night to get his degree and worked to support his wife and growing family. He was a true testament to hard work. They ended up having 6 kids (+ spouses), eventually 12 grandkids, many also now with spouses, 12 great grandkids with 1 more on the way, and 1 great-great grandkid. His number one priority in life has always been family, which he’s instilled in all of us. He contributed to college funds, waited 12+ hours in hospitals for babies to come, was eager to listen and wise with his words. He was the true patriarch of the Elliott Hoelscher family. One of the greats. This family was his heart and soul. I can only mourn that he won’t be able to be at our wedding or meet my kids one day. Being so unexpected, I’m mostly at a loss for words. How do I convey what a great man he was or properly honor him? I may never know the best way to do that. What I do know is that I can love my family and friends with every ounce of my being, just as he loved all of us. We will miss you terribly, Popo❣️

Elliott is one of my heroes.
Always so kind, patient, dedicated. A wonderful friend to my Dad, Big Ed. I remember him in Boerne at the deer lease - so steady & sweet & positive. I will always hold him, my Uncle Elliott, dear in my heart. He leaves behind a legacy of loving children and so much more.
What a smile!
With heartfelt compassion and love,
