

Eloice Brom Zissa, of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. Her earthly body was no longer strong enough for her to remain with us.
She was born on April 2, 1930, in Moulton, TX, to the late Christian and Vlasta Welfl Brom.
She married Daniel Zissa of Shiner, TX in 1950 and moved to Houston to begin their life together and raise their family.
Eloice was an amazing seamstress and sewed for the public for over 40 years. She created beautiful clothing for her family and clients. She didn’t know how to say the word no and never met a stranger. Her most important role in life was to care for her husband and her children. Her faith was strong and she had a deep relationship with God.
She lost Dan, the love of her life, in 2015 after 65 years of marriage.
Eloice and Dan were avid members of the P.O.L.K. of A Klub of America, spending most of their retirement years dancing and traveling with the club. She and Dan served as King and Queen of the local chapter for a year. She loved going to their Shiner home and getting back to their roots. She had a personality that filled a room and more friends than any one person can imagine.
The family would like to thank her friends, who in the past 5 years have kept her connected to the one thing she did best, talking; also, extended family members that visited and sent her letters.
Survivors include her two sons: Greg Zissa (Suzanne), Richard Zissa (Sharon) and two daughters Theresa Lewis (Don) and Patsy Bedford (Paul); 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild; her sister Joyce Berkovsky and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Christian and Vlasta Brom and her in-laws Julius and Mary Zissa. Her brothers: Eugene Brom, Elvin Brom and sister Evelyn Raab. Also, the many members of her P.O.L.K. of A. family.
A rosary will take place take place on Monday July 27, 2020 at 9:30 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Dr, Houston, TX 77080 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. A private family committal service will take place at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
