In 1961, she made the brave decision to leave her beautiful country behind in search of a better life. Her destiny led her to Port Isabel, Texas. This is where she met the love of her life, Epigmeñio Tamez Salazar. They got married November 1, 1965 and moved to Houston, Texas where they were blessed with a large and loving family. Together they raise four boys and two girls with patience, discipline, and humility. Eloisa was a devout Catholic and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister in law, and aunt. What brought her the most joy in life was Her grandchildren. She also adopted Many others along the way and welcomed them into her Life. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, music, and the smell of delicious food. She was a wonderful cook and an Avid Gardener. Gardening was her passion.
In 2002, she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease named Scleroderma and she lived everyday as a blessing, bringing her closer to her loved ones, and strengthening her faith. On Sunday, October 30th she passed away peacefully in the company of her loving husband and ever devoted daughters. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and loved ones.
She is survived in life by her ever loving husband, Epigmeñio Salazar. Sons Martin Salazar and wife Lupita Salazar, Roger Salazar and partner Cynthia Salinas, Robert Salazar and partner Richard Fuentes, David Salazar and Wife Maricruz Salazar. Daughters Jessica Salazar and husband Jose Gerardo Contreras. Christina Salazar and partner Pablo Mongarro and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the last surviving Member of her immediate family. She is preceded in death by her parents. Patricio Rubio And Felicitas Villegas Rubio, brothers Eduardo Rubio, Francisco Rubio, and sisters, Elsa Rubio, Anna Lopez, Abundia Zuñiga, and Christina Grubè.
A visitation for Eloisa will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 7:00 PM. A visitation will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos Catholic Church, 7500 Hirsch Rd., Houston, TX 77016. A mass service will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos Catholic Church. A burial will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Christopher Cantu, Christian Cantu, Steve Salazar, Patrick Salazar, Xavier Salazar, Michael Salazar and David Salazar.
