Dora Elouise Caskey, age 88 passed away on Friday September 4th in League City, Texas. Elouise was born in Turkey, Texas on January 1, 1932 to Reuben Lloyd and Ester May Lehman. Elouise was married to Clyde Caskey who has set the stage for her arrival in heaven along with her sons John and Steve Caskey. Elouise was also mother to Paul Caskey and stepsons Clyde and Bob Caskey. Elouise also had several grandchildren that she absolutely adored and loved to spend time with. They included Elizabeth, Norman, Trey, Brian, Christine, Kristina, Corey, and Devin along with numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Elouise was a graduate of Huntsville High and attended Sam Houston State University and obtained her bachelor’s degree before starting her family with Clyde and then returning to SHSU to obtain her master’s degree in education. Elouise spent most of her working career as a typing and shorthand teacher at Spring Branch High in Houston, Texas. After Elouise retired from teaching, she entered the corporate business world and spent her time as an executive secretary working for several very lucky companies.
Elouise’s passion for traveling led her throughout Europe and beyond as there was never a trip too far or an adventure she wasn’t ready for. Elouise lived a fun filled life and this is evident by the many friends she gained along the way.
During Elouise’s final stages of life, she lived at Parson’s House in La Porte, Texas. When Elouise found out someone else was going to do all the cooking, dishes, and cleaning she was completely delighted. This gave her the time she needed to read a new book each day. A very special thank you to the staff of Parson’s House La Porte who were like family to her and kept her happy and safe.
