Elsie Marie (Potts) Charles

Elsie Marie Potts Charles was born on June 4, 1937, to Maryland and Callie Potts. Elsie was called to the Lord on March 14, 2023. She was a proud graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School. Elsie earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees, both in Education, from Texas Southern University. Elsie enjoyed a loving and caring relationship with her husband, Henry Charles, for over 60 years. Henry and Elsie bore three children in their marriage. She was a loving and dedicated mother. Elsie leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Henry Charles, daughter, Gwendolyn Johnson, son-in-law John Johnson; two sons, Michael and Gerald Charles, five grandchildren, Ebony and Jarrett Johnson, Shavrielle (Shay), Ladazeja (DJ), and Kamryn (Kam) Charles. Elsie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Elsie's parents and her nine siblings, Ruth Rayson, Rose Lincoln, TC Alexander, Florence Baxter, Florine Dials, Helen Huval, Johns Potts, Harry Potts, and Willie Potts preceded her in death.
