

Emil James Tousek passed away May 27, 2023 at home in Columbus, Texas at age 88. He was born August 5, 1934 in Shiner, Texas to Frances Henrietta Kurtz and Emil Clifton Tousek. They resided in Moulton with his sister Frances Elaine and they moved to Houston in 1941. He later married Mary Emma Potter and had four children Gaynell Marie (Cowan) Jones, Michael James Tousek, Gwendolyn Ann Majors, and James Martin Tousek. He later remarried Wanda Everett. Emil had 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and nephews Thomas Gaetano Barkley and his brother Paul Nicholas Barkley.

Emil was a Draftsman, Mechanical Engineer and Inventor. He sang, yodeled and played guitar. He was a great cook, gardener, loved to travel and see the sights. Emil loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He also loved to drive everywhere for relaxation. He loved nature, animals, science and astronomy. He helped people in need. Emil loved his Czech heritage and enjoyed drinking a "pivo" beer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends whom he loved dearly.
