

Emmett Lorraine "Meme" Williams, arrived in her heavenly home Friday, November 14 ,2014 at the age of 101. She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Williams of 72 years, and first born daughter, Elsie Williams McDugle.
Lorraine (Meme) was born Oct. 2, 1913 just outside of Gilmer Texas. During her young years on the farm she milked cows, gathered eggs and helped her mother with the chores. She also picked cotton, which was hard work.
Lorraine attended a community church in Grice Texas in Upshur County. Baptized as a teenager in a creek gathering near her home. As a young adult she moved to Houston in mid 30's and later met the love of her life Clyde and they married in 1939. She was a devoted Christian and member of Park Temple Baptist Church for 75 years. Lorraine (Meme) was a Sunday School teacher for 65 years. Because of her enduring faith in Jesus Christ, she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was not only beautiful, but kind, humble and self-sacrificing, always giving, generous and loyal. She was a member of the North Side Chapter No. 651 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 74 years.
It is our great loss here on earth without Meme's encouragement and faithful daily prayers. She was the heart and soul of our family and will be greatly missed. We will love her forever and wait for the day we meet again in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Williams of 72 years and daughter, Elsie Williams McDugle . She is survived by her son Emmett Williams and wife Sylvia; daughter, Esther Williams Markum, grandchildren, Kevin McDugle and wife Carol; Wesley Markum and wife Laurette ; Eric Williams and wife Jerilyn; Lorra McDugle Lynch and husband Toby; Edward Williams and wife Laura; and James McDugle and wife Lorena.
Great Grandchildren, William McDugle and wife Tiffany; Dillon McDugle, Stefani, Chloe and Sonali Markum; Easton and Elyanna Williams, Jack, Maggie and Kaysie Lynch, Luke and Savannah McDugle
and Olivia Williams.
