

Enrique Francisco “Henry” Delgado, 79, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1945, in Havana, Cuba to Coralia and Heriberto Delgado. He married his sweetheart, Julia de la Caridad Santander, in 1966 in Miami, Florida. Having emigrated from Cuba, they both became American citizens in 1973. He graduated from the University of Tennessee- Nashville in 1975 with a B.S. in Engineering.
His first job as an Engineer brought the family from Nashville, Tennessee to Houston, Texas to work for Brown & Root designing offshore platforms. He loved the excitement and work of building huge structures with teams from all over the world. In 1988, he joined Dow Chemical as a Civil Engineer working on the design of manufacturing units in the chemical industry. He worked for Dow until his retirement in 2012.
Enrique was a dedicated family man, loving to spend time together with his wife of almost 60 years, his children, and grandchildren. His love extended to the hundreds of children that attended their school, Early Discovery Montessori Learning Center. He had an extra big heart when it came to his family, friends, and those in need. He was also known to have a great fondness for his many pets.
He joined Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in 1991 after moving the family to Katy. He loved to serve the church and parishioners and became an Acolyte in 2013.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Coralia Maria Delgado, his father, Heriberto Moises Delgado, and brothers Heriberto Segundo Delgado and Pablo Moises Delgado. He is survived by his wife, Julia, son Henry Delgado and wife, Laura, grandchildren Therese, Nicholas, Mary-Catherine, and Michael; Daughter Cari McFarlane and husband Scott, grandchildren Eli, Adam, and Sarah.
A vigil will be held at Forest Park Houston (Westheimer) on Wednesday, August 13 from 5- 8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston on August 14 at 10 am. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park (Westheimer) at noon.
The family would like to thank the many friends, family, and medical staff that assisted over the years. His journey was made better by knowing that prayers and well wishes were always being offered.
