

He was born in Houston, Texas on August 16th, 1954 to Addie Frances and Ben Trahan. Eric spent his childhood in Houston and developed a passion for Basketball, Fishing, Dominoes, Barbecuing, Family & Friends Gatherings and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. He graduated from Kashmere High School in 1972. After high School, Eric continued his education at Texas College and Weatherford College where he played basketball. Eric continued with his love for basketball and played across the city of Houston and the surrounding area for years. A significant part of his later years he developed a host of friends turned family while playing basketball at Amity Park in Alief Texas. It was during this time he was given the nickname “fifty”. When he put down basketball, they continued with weekly domino games and community outreach at the park.
Eric and Kim began their journey in 1982, married in 1984. From this union grew a beautiful family filled with love and decades of lifelong memories.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife-Kim Perkins Trahan, Children-Erica Prejean (Joseph), Jared Trahan and Taylor Trahan, Grandchildren-BreAnna, Jayson and Jayla, and a Great Granddaughter, Jalaya. Brother-Dereck Trahan (Annette), Sister-Jackie Trahan and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Eric was God fearing man who accepted and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from a very young age. Eric expressed love for people everywhere he went and was a man who met no strangers. Eric was always willing to lend a helping hand where he could. Eric was always ready for a fun time and all who knew him were aware. Eric was encouraging to many and a man of great Godly wisdom. Eric will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
