Erica Gatoni

Erica was the loving daughter of the late Dr. Cassien Ndayambaje and Janviere Kamo. She spent her childhood in her home country of Burundi before moving the United States, at age 20, joining her big sister. She was full of life, made everyone laugh and cared for others.

Erica enjoyed going to events, traveling, cooking and volunteering. She was immersed in her Christian background from an early age. She graduated from UTMB in 2014 with a degree in Laboratory Science and got her MHA & MBA at the University of Clear Lake in 2019. She then accepted a position as Laboratory blood bank supervisor at Ben Taub Hospital, where she worked for three years.

She is survived by her mom, Janviere; sister, Nelly; 2 brothers, Thierry & Emile, brother-in-law, Marius; niece, Micaela, whom she loved so much and several other family members & friends.

Though her smile is gone forever and her hand we cannot touch

We still have so many memories of the one we loved so much,

Her memory is now our keepsake which we’ll never part.

God has her in his keeping, we have her in our heart.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Erica will be remembered with love long after her passing.

A visitation for Erica will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a committal service starting at 11:00 AM.
