Ernesto "El Grande" Alvarado

Ernesto “El Grande” Alvarado, 77, of South Houston, TX, passed away on December 3, 2025. He was born in Brownsville, Tx on December 22, 1947. Ernesto did not graduate because, according to him, the teachers and principal were in love with him.

He was married to Fredrica Anna Alvarado on October 8, 1976. Ernesto worked in maintenance at Walmart for 20 years. He had a passion for dancing, music, and being the life of the party. He loved his dogs and goldfish.

He is preceded in death by his father Matilde Alvarado, and mother, Francisca Aguayo Bernal, numerous siblings, and pets.

He is survived by his wife Anna, son Ernest Jr., and daughters Fransis (Danny), Veronica (Oscar), Marisa (Daniel), Ina (Baldomero), and Sabrina (Steven); his grand children Aracely, Izak, Jose Jr., Alyssa, Cristian, Oscar, Rubi, Liliana, Aaliyah, Isaiah, Adrian, Aleida, and Aria; his brothers Arcadio, Beto, and sisters Elvira, Maria De La Luz, and Matilde and nephew Mario.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003, on December 10, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Rosary Service will take place at the same location on December 10, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

The committal service is scheduled at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on December 11, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
