

Ervin Otto Steinhauser, Jr., born November 11, 1930, passed away on March 23 at the Gardens of Bellaire in Bellaire, Texas. Except for serving his country in the Navy during the Korean war, Ervin spent his life in the cities of Flatonia, Victoria, Spring Branch and Bellaire. He graduated from Lamar High School and after the war, he attended the University of Houston, learned TV repairing, and started a business. After a time , he worked at the Hammond Organ Co. and Holcomb Lindquist Co. installing and repairing electronic organs. He then formed his own company in the business. His career led him to meet and know countless organ owners including entertainers and people in the music business throughout South Texas. He maintained contact with other Lamar graduates and fellow service men from the destroyer USS Picking, there home for four years.
Ervin was preceded in death by his father Ervin Sr., mother Lillie Burns, wife Frances, and sister Lillian Ragsdale. He is survived by Kenneth Wayne Steinhauser in Flatonia. Ervin will be remembered with deep affection by all who were fortunate to cross his path.
Cremation will be at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services and burial at the family plot at Woodlawn Funeral Home. He requested that there be no memorial service. Donations can be made to Wounded Warriors.
