Esmeralda B. Almendarez

Esmeralda Balboa Almendarez of Houston, Texas, was born on February 3, 1948, to parents Roberto and Francisca Longoria. Esmeralda, lovingly known as Emily, was called home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family.

Emily dedicated her life to her family, her friends, and above all, to serving the Lord.

She found joy in dancing, she loved reading her Bible, watching classic movies, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her radiant spirit was truly the heart and soul of her family.

Emily is survived by her husband of 50 years, Cecilio Almendarez; her daughter, Jennifer Almendarez with grandchildren Angel, Marissa, Miguel (Pops), Mia and Jacob; her son, Cecilio Almendarez (Jr) and his wife Adriana, along with their children Esmeralda and Cecilio; her daughter, Isabel Joy Ibarra and her husband Jose, along with their children Aaliyah, Indio and Ciara; her great- grandchildren Marceline, Avery, Audrey, and Cruz.

She is also survived by her siblings; Rudy and his wife Sol, Roland, Johnny, Robert Jr., Rod and his wife Debbie, Erma, Maria and her husband Steve; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Emily’s laughter, vivacious character, and warm loving heart will always be remembered and deeply treasured. Her courage, strength, and unwavering faith in the Lord will forever remain an inspiration to all who loved her.
