Esmeralda Alonso Macias, de 50 años de edad, era una hija, hermana, tía, y amiga amorosa y amada por todos. Falleció el 19 de marzo del 2020, el día de San José, en la presencia de su hermano y hermanas después de casi dos años de batalla con el cáncer.
Ella nació en un rancho chiquito en Aguascalientes, México llamado La Escondida (El Salero), el 30 de octubre del 1969 a José Guadalupe Alonso y María Belén Macias. A principios del 1996, a los 26 años de edad, Esmeralda llego a los Estados Unidos con su hermana. Residió en Houston, sin poder regresar a su país natal, por el resto de su vida.
Esmeralda fue siempre una persona muy trabajadora y hacia todos sus trabajos con mucho amor. Era parroquiana en la iglesia Católica de San Francisco de Sales y activa en la iglesia Notre Dame, donde formo muchas de sus amistades. Le agradaba mucho ir a misa con su familia y amigos a escuchar la palabra de Dios. Esmeralda era una persona de mucha fe y esperanza.
Esmeralda era apasionada en todo lo que hacía, pero en especial de la cocina, tomar fotos de ella misma y de su familia, dar besos en la mejilla, cantar en misa, sonreír y ser feliz, manejar en la lluvia, pasar el tiempo con su familia, y mas que todo, amar a la gente y ayudar a todos los que podía ayudar.
Fue precedida en la muerte por su madre, quien falleció el 1ro de febrero del 2011. Le sobreviven su padre, sus siete hermanas, sus dos hermanos, sus sobrinas y sobrinos, y su ahijada, Mariana.
Esmeralda fue una persona que dejo un ejemplo de fortaleza, fe, y amor a Dios y a sus semejantes. Sera extrañada por todos.
