Esperanza A. Gutierrez

Esperanza was born on January 15, 1933, in Las Raices, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Arnulfo Aguirre and Rosa Vega. Esperanza married the love of her life, Jose Juan on July 22, 1951 and emigrated to Houston, Texas in 1956. Together they raised seven children: Miguel, Jose Juan Jr., Jorge, Esperanza, Martin, Rose Marie, and Gerardo.

The life of any party, Esperanza could often be found dancing cheek to cheek with her beloved Jose Juan. She was an active member of the local YWCA and loved to travel with her fellow members. A woman of faith, she was a member of Movimiento Familiar Cristiano for many years. Most of all, she loved her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was happiest when in the company of her loved ones.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her father Arnulfo, her mother Rosa, her siblings Arnulfo, Manuel, Roberto, Alejandro, Eduardo, Carolina, Adela, Dora, Lucila, and her granddaughter, Nancy. She is survived by her husband Jose Juan, her seven children and their spouses, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, her sister Idalia, and her brother Juventino.
