Marie Estelle Behrmann passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026. She was born in 1929 to Estelle and Joseph G. Hall, the first of four children in Staten Island, NY. After attending high school and graduating Cum Laude from Notre Dame College, Estelle went to work in New York City where she met Jim Behrmann, the love of her life. They married, had three children and lived in England for ten years. Returning to the United States they resided first in New Jersey and then Houston, Texas. Estelle had a wonderful life traveling with Jim to many countries. They were long time members of Houston's Pine Forest Country Club and enjoyed tennis, great dinners and lots of dancing.
Estelle's hobbies included bridge, mahjong, reading and gardening. Her close circle of longtime friends were always together having a great time. She loved being at the beach with a good book and her toes in the sand. Estelle was interesting, engaged and always had good stories to share. A devout parishioner of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, she also volunteered at Joseph's Coat resale shop for many years.
In her eighties, Estelle found loving companionship and an equal partner in Grafton Houston. They shared many mutual interests and an active social life with friends and family.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, and her brothers John and Joseph and great-grandson George. She is survived by her sister Maryellen and husband Gil; children Maryellen, Estelle, Jim and wife Cheryl; granddaughters Frances and husband Curtis, Emily and husband John, Claire and husband Thomas and grandson James. Seven cherished great-grandchildren adored their "GGB" (Great Grandma Behrmann) and brought her so much joy and happiness.
Estelle spent the last six years of her life at Eagles Trace Retirement Community in Houston, Texas. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, staff and The Bayou City Hospice team, for their dedicated care and extraordinary kindness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating, in Estelle’s memory, to Joseph's Coat at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Houston, Texas, the Parkinsons Foundation or a charity of your choice.
