After 95 years on this earth the Lord took Esther on her last journey to the wonderful place that he had made especially for her. Esther was born in Cypress, Texas on December 18, 1915 to John and Annie Quade. She had a sister, Stella and a brother, Edwin. On July 11, 1936 she married Carl Seidel and moved to Houston.
Esther and Carl Seidel were life-long Lutherans and Charter members of St. Marks Lutheran Church. Both Esther and Carl were very active in their church. Esther belonged to several ladies organizations and taught Sunday School for many years. The three children born in the marriage; Glenn, Barbara and Dennis were raised in the midst of church activities, including attending the Lutheran School. In the last few years of her life she attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Cypress.
Esther was a people person and never met a stranger. She loved all her friends and they in turned loved her. So when she opened a beauty shop in her home it was a good match. She truly enjoyed her beauty shop customers and with all the laughter it seemed like there was a party everyday.
Esther enjoyed traveling and was able to travel to many places in the United States, Europe and Mexico. She was always ready for an adventure from para sailing at the age of 65 to flying in a small aircraft over Mount McKinley in Alaska at age 75.
Esther is survived by her son, Glenn Seidel and wife Sandy Seidel; Daughter Barbara Handley and her husband Marvin Handley; son, Dennis Seidel and wife Pam.
The family includes 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandsons.
Mother was such a beautiful person both inside and out. She has only been gone a couple of days now but we are already feeling the big hole that is now in our lives. Our hope is in our eternal God and that we will again see her in all her beauty and God's glory.
