She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lebeau, La. where she attended church and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devout catholic until her health failed.
In her journey through life Ethel met and married Wilford D. Jones Sr. in 1953 and moved to Houston, TX. and to that union 6 children were born. Ethel was employed with Sears Roebuck & Company for over 30 years until her retirement. She loved cooking, zydeco dancing and taking trips to the casino. Ethel had a passion for nurturing plants. After her retirement, Ethel took care of many children. Her passion was to love and care for all of them.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Joseph Durgin and three sisters, Lucy James, Elizabeth Johnson and Erma Elmore.
She leaves to mourn in her death, three daughters, Pamela Jones, Jewel Jones-Ricard (Bernard), Janica Jones-Brown. Three sons, Wilford Jones Jr., Barry Jones and Randy Jones (Deanna). Two sisters, Linda Durgin and Brenda Green. Thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
